PROTECTING VOTING RIGHTS
Voting is the bedrock of our democracy and should be cherished and protected. Through voting, we assert our beliefs and chart the State’s political course. As such, I oppose legislation designed to infringe on this basic right and instead support measures designed to ensure that every vote counts and that all eligible voters are able to make their voices heard. Here are some key stances:
Standing Against Voter Suppression: I will vote against any bills that are designed to make it more difficult for citizens to vote.
Supporting Free and Fair Elections: I support legislation that encourages broad participation in our democracy and ensure that all eligible voters are able to vote. More specifically, I support legislation that: (1) Allows for early voting; (2) Requires all absentee ballots to be counted if they are postmarked by election day and are received within 7 days after election day; (3) Ensures adequate ballot drop box locations; and (4) Allows for the early processing of absentee ballots.
